Main Purpose of the Job  

Mercury is a provider of market-leading technology solutions to the recruitment industry. Its primary product is a custom solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 which is aimed primarily at recruitment agencies and businesses within professional staffing sectors.

The Learning and Development Manager will play a critical role in the day-to-day learning and development (L&D) activities and throughout the business. This role will coordinate all L&D activities but also partner with business managers, and HR. Activities include interacting with employees and third-party training providers. You should be a friendly, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

The L&D Manager is responsible for the following core activities:

  • Develops and implements a learning strategy and program that are aligned with the organisation’s objectives
  • Has a full understanding of the various business units and their specific training requirements
  • Oversees and manages all centralised mandatory security compliance training, and ensure all is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Embraces and implements various types of training
  • Manages and tracks employee Microsoft certifications and encourages all staff to use Microsoft Learn resources and achieve the corresponding certifications
  • Tracks budgets, negotiate contracts, builds and maintains relationships with third-party training providers
  • Designs and produces training materials, including e-learning courses
  • Evaluate and report on the success of development plans, ROI, and effectiveness of training and development activities
  • Manage the company’s apprentice programme
  • Act as the principal point of contact for anyone with questions about training and development
  • Collaborate effectively with other relevant stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in learning trends, changes in learning theory, and developments in learning technologies

    Person Specification  


  • Current up to date knowledge of effective learning and development methods, best practices, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Previous Experience in planning and delivering key corporate L&D projects
  • Design and delivery of training sessions/development programmes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work to demanding deadlines and prioritising workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships
  • Creative self-starter and team player
  • Approachable and adaptable to situations
  • High levels of personal resilience  


Experience in Microsoft Certifications
Experience in delivering Power Platform / Dynamics 365 training
